Welcome back to the Forge Audio Network as we kick off Week 14 of the Canadian Premier League! In today's episode of Forge Daily, Mackenzie is joined by CPL analyst Mitchell Tierney. They discuss last night’s 2-1 victory over Pacific FC, highlight key performers, and examine Cavalry FC's current form as Forge prepares for their next game in Calgary.

Key Takeaways:

  1. With two more goals last night, Kwasi Poku now has a total of six this season. Head coach of the men's national team, Jesse Marsch, was present which makes his performance all the more impressive.
  2. Forge has played at home for three consecutive games, giving them an advantage against a Pacific team that is also coming off their side of the Canadian Championship semi-final.
  3. Forge has a style of play that utilizes their wing players and adapts to their opponent. Mitch adds they might be more inclined to play this way against Pacific due to their narrow field.
  4. As confidence-building as Forge FC’s game against TFC was, those mid week matches has proven to be physically and emotionally demanding for players to ‘bounce back’ from.
  5. Cavalry is one of two teams that have not won back-to-back games this year. While their form is not at its best, their group is missing key players like William Akio, Ali Musse, and Charlie Trafford. Forge has an opportunity to take advantage of Cavalry's current form and vulnerability.
